Planning your visit

The Museum of the Bayeux Tapestry is open to the public 7/7 days from February 1st to December 31st. Please buy your tickets at the museums, no tickets online or in advance. The last admission is 45 minutes before the closing time of the museum.

An audioguide included in the entry fee (16 languages proposed) will be given to you to discover the tapestry. The visit begins with the discovery of the original artefact and then continues with a permanent exhibition and a film. Duration of visit is about 1h30. Any comment or oral guidance in the exhibition gallery of the masterpiece is prohibited. Pets are not allowed in the museum except guide assistance dogs. For security reasons any baggage or bulky bag will be refused. Bayeux museums are accessible WITHOUT prior reservation.

The Bayeux Tapestry Museum is easily accessible from the SNCF train station or the major highways. Parking is in the immediate vicinity. The short distance separating the 3 museums of the city makes it possible to reach them on foot.

When you visit the Bayeux Tapestry Museum, the cost of an admission ticket is 12€ per adult in 2022, 5€ for children over 10 and students. The ticket includes the use of an audio guide with an offer of 16 languages, which explains the scenes on the Bayeux Tapestry in about 25 minutes.
