Its rich collections of art and history include: 600 works of art of which 250 are paintings and prints (including works by Philippe de Champaigne, François Boucher, Gustave Caillebotte, Eugène Boudin, Kees Van Dongen), 1,000 items of Bayeux porcelain and lace and 800 archaeological and ethnographic artefacts. Its setting, the episcopal palace, is considered to be one of the finest urban residences in the region and is protected as a Historic Monument.
